DEPARTMENT OF LABOR Occupational Safety and Health Administration 29 CFR Parts 1910, 1915, 1917, and 1918 [Docket No. S-008] Powered Industrial Truck Operator Training

Forklift Training Course

The OSHA Powered Industrial Lift Truck (Forklift) course taught is based upon the OSHA Lift Standard and is designed to educate Forklift Operators in the inherent in forklift operation. The course includes a discussion of the principles and policies of forklift safety, an explanation of the obligations of employers and employees, the recognition of tasks that may involve exposure to danger, and the performance of a Forklift through an obstacle course for review by Supervisor and our Instructor. The course results in a 3 year certification. Re-training must occur every 3 years, or in the event of a change in equipment, change in facility/environment, an accident, or "perceived unsafe behavior". Re-training materials are available so that Employers may conduct interim refresher training when necessary.
